06.25.09The ProdigyEarlier this Spring, I had the opportunity to photograph the very talented Chef Luke Hayes-Alexander, and his mother Carrie, for Toronto Life. Luke cooks in his parent's restaurant in Kingston, Ontario, which draws in people from all over Southern Ontario. It serves as a perfect conduit for his brilliance, and helps communicate the love he has for the land and the food we cultivate from it. The July 2009 issue of Toronto Life is on stands now, but if you can't pick it up, here are some outtakes and the great spreads that the magazine created.

06.23.09My Kodachrome Tale in today’s Globe and MailI received a call yesterday morning that came up as "BLOCKED". Great, the cops. To my surprise, it was a reporter, Dakshana Bascaramurty, calling from the Globe and Mail newspaper here in Toronto. She read my post here from a few months back on my lament for the end of Kodachrome film, and wanted to interview me on my feelings regarding the official announcement yesterday of the film's demise. 06.22.09I’m heading out on tour (I’ve always wanted to say that)For the next 4 months, I'll be working with Asymetric, a company that "provides high quality integrated content solutions", shooting stills & video for Canada Tourism. The project calls for a complete sketch of the country's favorite spots, and so far we've profiled Toronto, and we'll be on to Vancouver, the Yukon, an the NWT shortly. I've really enjoyed working with the 5D Mark II, shooting both stills and video, and look forward to working with the Sony EX3 in the upcoming cities & provinces.
