08.10.10I’m back…I just wanted to let you keen readers who have been nice enough to ask that yes, I had an incredible trip, and I'm back safe and sound. The thing is, I came back to a mountain of new assignments which has kept me from some quality blog writing time. I'll be able to cobble my trip diaries together this weekend, and look forward to sharing some great stories from my Arctic expedition with you all next week.

07.09.10Packing for the Arctic in a Heat Wave.So, the daunting job of packing for this remarkable trip started with a mandatory trip to Mountain Equipment Co-op, in Toronto's downtown. This outdoor outfitter has always been the starting point for me before heading out into the wilds. Problem is, shopping for sub zero clothing in the middle of the summer, during a scorching heatwave no less, I found absolutely nothing of use (except for a lot of hiking socks). 09.14.09The seven week reviewI'm sorry, but did you see August go by? My apologies for not posting anything for the last several weeks, but my Summer of '09 was all about being out there, and away from the keyboard. My Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC), job started back in June with a week long profile of my home town of Toronto, and then on to many rural & urban locales in the provinces of Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Quebec, and British Columbia. 07.28.09Canada Tour UpdateWow, how the time has flown. I thought I'd quickly update my Canada Tourism job, as it has been quite involved over the last few months. We started in Toronto back in mid June, and have just recently completed a tour of Saskatchewan and Quebéc. Our days consist of rising early, double checking gear, off to a series of locations, tours and interviews for the next 10 to 12 hours, and late crashes into a hotel bed. Some highlights thus far include being intimate with Lord Stanley's Cup in Toronto, enjoying lightening storms 100 miles away across the Cypress Hills in Saskatchewan, ...

06.22.09I’m heading out on tour (I’ve always wanted to say that)For the next 4 months, I'll be working with Asymetric, a company that "provides high quality integrated content solutions", shooting stills & video for Canada Tourism. The project calls for a complete sketch of the country's favorite spots, and so far we've profiled Toronto, and we'll be on to Vancouver, the Yukon, an the NWT shortly. I've really enjoyed working with the 5D Mark II, shooting both stills and video, and look forward to working with the Sony EX3 in the upcoming cities & provinces.
